1.14 - Astavakra Geeta - Chapter 1 Verse 14 - Am I a body?
It is very easy to get convinced that "I am not Body". But its the habbit which is very difficult to break. Its the addiction of habbit very difficult to break. Of course the logical convincing helps, in fact it comes first and then the habit breaking follows.
It is partially true that "I am not body". In fact to put it different words the term "I am body" is necessary. If we try to put it in different words it would be "I am not only body" "I am more than body" "I am not just a body" " I am much more than body".
Now the question arises how to break the habbit of considering "I am body". Not only this, but every habit and addiction requires special consideration and care to break it. It can't be forced to break. In fact, habbit is like a naughty child. Whatever we ask for to the child, it will do exactly opposite. Therefore it is said that neither force nor accept the habbits. Let them dissolve. We have to "Let go" them.
Secondly to dissolve dark light is required. In the similar way, to dissolve this habbit of considering "I am body" the realisation of self. The realisation of being whole is required. Once we realise about our true nature, the habbit will automatically break.
