Fiction books - ELove : ch-42 Clues
Quite early in the morning, after coming to office, Anjali, Vivek, Sharwari and Inspector were assembled in the conference room.
“ I am contented with the fact that .. at last the blackmailer has released Vivek, without harming him” Anjali took a sigh and concluded after lot of discussion.
“ But.. Just a minute” Vivek interrupted.
Due to his unexpected interruption everybody looked at him with serious, curious faces.
“ I think... the blackmailer had created hell lot of troubles for us, Anjali, Inspector Kawaljeet and me too...” Vivek said.
“ Vivek... I am least bothered about the money I lost... You are not been harmed that’s very important for me..” this time Anjali interrupted.
Anjali looked in anticipation at Inspector, hoping that he would speak something to support her point. But he didn’t speak.
“ Anjali.. It’s not regarding only money... At least I feel that... it’s not proper to leave him just like that... that way ...the time to catch him is not still passed... How it will be .. if we try to catch him now?” Vivek raised the point and looked at Inspector to judge his opinions. Inspector looked at the roof, thought over, and as he was about to speak when Sharwari interrupted.
“ But neither we know his name nor his address... Even we don’t know what he is... Even if we decide to catch him... how we are going to do it?” Sharwari raised the point.
Anjali looked at Sharwari, as if supporting her point.
“ We are trying to catch him since so many days... the efforts taken by us are not totally fruitless.. We still have some clues... First off all we have the sample of his hand writing, which we got in the cyber cafe log book... Secondly we have his finger prints, which also we got in the cyber cafe... Thirdly... Look at this photograph...” Inspector was speaking.
Appreciating Vivek’s wish to catch him, Inspector seemed to be motivated. He took out two photographs from his pocket and circulated among them to have a closer look.
“ These are the photographs of the computer in the cyber cafe, where blackmailer was sitting just before few minutes, when it was photographed... look at them carefully... and see if something you can make out” Inspector said.
Everybody had a look at those photographs one after the other. But nobody was able to make out anything out of it. When it was Vivek’s turn to have a look, he looked at them closely and smiled.
“ What is it?” Anjali asked him.
“ Look ... little carefully... in these photographs the mouse is placed on the left side of the computer, instead of the right” Vivek said.
“ Yes you are absolutely right” Inspector said in enthusiasm
Now Anjali was also smiling.
“ But what does it proves?” Sharwari asked in confusion, still not getting to the point.
“ It proves the only one thing that the blackmailer is left handed.” Inspector said.
“ Yes that’s right” It was time for Sharwari to smile.
The phone residing in the corner of the conference room rang. It was just next to Anjali. She attended it.
“ Hello?”
“Good morning Anjali” Net Secura’s Director Mr. Bhatia spoke from other side.
“ Good Morning Bhatiaji” Anjali greeted him with the same warmth.
“ This is regarding the networking software development contest we are hosting... the topic is ‘Ethical hacking’ ... actually we want the prize distribution to be done by you... “ Bhatiaji said firmly from other side, as if getting Anjali for that program is his birth right.
“ You call and we didn’t come, will it happen ever? Bhatiaji... I will come for sure.. When is the prize distribution ceremony?” Anjali asked.
“ The whole program is yet to be finalized... But as I guess it will be around this month end.. As soon as the whole program finalizes, I will let you know.. “ Bhatiaji said from the other side.
“ No problem”
“Thanks!”
“Mention Not”
“OK Bye see you”
“Bye”
Anjali kept back the cradle and looked at the people assembled in the conference room. Now again her face was beamed up with a peculiar smile.
“ I have got an idea... just now there was a call from Net Secura’s Managing Director Mr. Bhatia... They are conducting a network software development contest on the topic ‘Ethical Hacking’... I am sure if we publicize this contest on a large scale and keep some huge prizes for the winners... in that case the blackmailer would definitely participate in this contest” Anjali said.
“But how can you be so sure?” Vivek raised his doubt.
“ Though not hundred percent sure... still ... according to criminal psychology.. the blackmailer is on his peak of confidence and ego... if we are successful in commutating about this contest to him, he would surely participate..” Inspector put forth his opinion.
